DIY Name Art for Kids

One day last week I was alone with my girls overnight while their dad and brothers went on a boy’s camping trip. We decided to make a fun evening out of it! We painted our nails, did some crafts, and went for a walk to the park. I wanted to share the craft we did…it was easy, fun, and they LOVED it!

First, gather your supplies. You will need:

poster board or canvas (I already had poster board on hand, so I cut it into fourths and they each did one)
finger paints or washable children’s paint
aprons
painters tape

Take your poster board and tape off their name, as you see in the photo. Then let them loose painting! I think finger paints would be so fun with this project. We didn’t have any so I just used some Crayola paint that we already had. It still worked great!

After painting, you can see it will look like the photo below. Have them paint all over the paper, including the tape. Then it will look the best when its done!

That’s it! After its the way they want it to look, let it dry, then peel the paint off the poster board. And it looks like this! A great project for kids, and you can hang it in their rooms. Nothing like some DIY art!
