How to Stop Feeling Discouraged
Words can have a powerful impact over anybody. History has taught us that words can even change the course of events and change everything we know. Any person, no matter how strong he or she is, will feel discouraged at one point in his or her life.

There are many ways that will stop you from feeling discouraged. You will first have to love yourself, accept your flaws, improve your abilities and focus on your dreams. You will also need to learn to become mentally strong in order to stop from being influenced or discouraged by others.

Unrealistic Expectations

The feeling of discouragement often occurs when our expectancies don’t match the reality of things. Setting realistic goals is just one part of the solution. You have to have several plans ready if your original plan fails. You also have to take into consideration the fact that you may not succeed at first. But don’t feel discouraged; a lot of successful people have gone through the same thing. You don’t have to give up; that’s the beauty of achieving something. Determination and hard work will keep you focused on your goals and you will try to find solutions till you get things done. Besides, all amazing things aren’t at everyone’s reach; they are difficult to achieve; this is why not many people are successful. They give up too soon on their dreams.

A Different Mindset

Don’t feel ashamed or perceive yourself as a loser or a failure. There is no such thing as losing or failing. Every mistake is a lesson that makes you a wiser, more experienced individual that won’t make the same mistake again. You will find another plan, another approach to your problem. A different mindset, a more positive approach can really work wonders.

Listening to Other and Comparisons

While it is true that any piece of advice is welcome, it is also true that some people don’t have the same mindset and dreams like you so they may not be the right persons to give you pieces of advice. Stop being influenced by others or stop trying to please others. It’s your life, your rules and only you know what you want and what is best for you. Stop comparing with other people that are now successful. They have different personalities, different goals in mind and you should only focus on your path.

Risk Taking and Patience

Being successful means being smart. You will have to learn how to not be afraid of taking risks; smart risks that is. Use your analytical mind and assess possible damage and costs if things don’t go as planned. If you can afford the risk, then do it. But also give yourself and your dreams time. Be patient with your dreams; work hard for them.

Wallowing in Self Pity

We all tend to play the victims when things don’t go as planned. Self-pity isn’t practical at all and it can lead to us feeling discouraged. Say no to self-pity. You have the means and strength to rise up again and to achieve what you’ve planned.
