Who doesn’t like to play video games from time to time? We either want to keep our minds busy and forget about something that’s bugging us or we just want to keep our anger in control by exhausting it while playing video games.
Some people become addicted to video games while others seldom play them. There are pros and cons of playing video games and if you don’t want to spend too much time playing these video games, you can quit anytime and replace this activity with another one that seems more productive to you.
Video games are often criticized in the media, by parents, by teachers, you name it. But even if most arguments can be pertinent, there are some advantages that you need to take into consideration when playing video games. But the thing is to have a measure in anything; becoming addicted to video games can have several repercussions and consequences over our lives.
A Better Coordination and Orientation
Several studies have shown that people who often play video games have a great coordination compared with those who aren’t avid players. The video players are also more aware of their surroundings and they can better read a map and they also have a sense of direction. They don’t get lost too easily.

The analytical, logical thinking is developed when playing different types of video games, particularly puzzles and games that involve different quests. Problem solvers can easily find a job and be productive and skilled at what they do.

While some studies claim that video games promote teamwork, socializing and other things related to communication, other studies show that video games can make a person be socially awkward. So basically, there are advantages and disadvantages when playing video games in relation to socializing.

Sometimes, we end up playing video games way into the night. We don’t get out much (only when it comes to grocery shopping, going to school or work etc.) and we lack vitamin D and sleep. This is definitely one of the major disadvantages that come with playing video games.

The more time you spend playing video games, the more you are prone to different diseases. Back pain, joint pain, forgetting to eat, drink, sleep, go to the bathroom have so many consequences on our health. Video game addicts have to deal with many illnesses due to a vulnerable immune system and due to lack of different vitamins and sleep.

Depending on the age of the one who enjoys playing video games, a lot of things can happen. For starters kids and adolescents are going through different phases that leave them extremely vulnerable to different stimuli and influences. A lot of video games can breed violence and other destructive behaviors.
