How I spent $6.01 on all this at Rite Aid

Here is an example of the great deals you can get at Rite Aid this week! Here is what I purchased:

2 pkgs Pampers Jumbo packs
2 Head and Shoulders (my hubby’s fav shampoo)
1 Crest toothpaste
Advantage Toothbrushes (two for one price)
1 pkg nail stickers (my daughter already opened the pkg…sorry)
1 Gillette Fusion razor

I did these in 3 separate transactions so I could “roll” the +Up Rewards and have as little out of pocket as possible. Also because I went to another Rite Aid store to find more size 5 diapers as my store was out. Here is what I did:

Transaction #1
1 Pampers $8.97
Gillette razor $9.89
Crest toothpaste $2.57
Oral B Toothbrushes $2.57
Total before coupons: $24.00

Used:
Pampers Diapers or Pants $1.50/1 (7-31-11) PG-6/5
Gillette Fusion ProGlide Manual or Power Razor $4/1 (7-31-11) PG-6/5
Crest Toothpastes 4 oz. or more or liquid gel .75/1 (7-31-11) PG-6/5
Oral-B Pulsar, CrossAction or Advantage Toothbrushes $2/1 or (2) Indicator or Cavity Defense Manual Toothbrushes (7-31-11) PG-7/3

Total after coupons: $15.75
Then I got $11 of +Up Rewards

Transaction #2
2 Head and Shoulders 2/$10
Nail stickers $1.79
Total before coupons: $11.79

Used:
Head and Shoulders Shampoo or Conditioner, excludes trial size Buy 1 Get 1 of equal or lesser value FREE up to $12.99 (7-31-11) PG-7/3
$5 worth of +Up Rewards

Total after coupons: $1.79

Transaction #3
1 Pampers $8.97
Total before coupons: $8.97

Used:
Pampers Diapers or Pants $1.50/1 (7-31-11) PG-6/5
$6 worth of +Up Rewards

Total after coupons and rewards: $1.47
Then I got a $2 +Up Reward

Grand Total for everything: $8.01, including tax, factoring in my rewards. Not too shabby! But since I got another $2 +Up on my last purchase I really only spent $6.01!! Usually just one pack of diapers would cost more than that. Shopping at Rite Aid pays off!

  1. I’m confused how you said oop was $8.01 when in the first transaction you paid $15.75. Are you subtracting the rewards from you oop? Because that wouldn’t really be the true Out Of Pocket amount, right? Or am I totally confused?

  2. I am a little confused too. Even for $15.75 that would be great but how does this add up? Luckystars-She couldnt have subtracted that b/c she used those rewards in the next 2 transactions. Hopefully we’ll hear something back 🙂

  3. I am a little embarrassed here…last Tuesday was Monday for me! Sorry guys. I accidentally subtracted the $11 +Up Rewards twice when I made the post, that is what made my total so low. So my total out of pocket was $19.01, then subtract off the last $2 +Up I got and that makes my total oop $17.01. Sorry for my lack of double-checking my math!
