In addition to making your own Shrinky Dinks (as per my blog post yesterday), did you know that you can shrink snack bags??? So cool!
.
After you eat your snacks (snacks should be the plastic bags with foil inside – like chip bags) wash and dry them so that they are really clean. Put your snack bags onto a parchment-covered cookie sheet and then cover with another piece of parchment paper and a 2nd cookie sheet. Check every few minutes until you have nice, small snack bags! This process will take about 10-12 minutes.
.
If you want to make them into earrings or a keychain or some such thing then just do your hole punching before you bake them. The bags will shrink to less than 1/4 the original size and become harder than the original bags.
.
NOTE: I am actually unsure whether this would work with plastic snack bags without foil lining. If you try that, let us know your results!
