Another way that your scissors can save you some money.

There’s this face wash that I really like. But it costs about $18.00 for a 6 oz. tube of it. In my world, that’s kind of expensive. Of course, deals come along. There are coupons every now and then. But still…EIGHTEEN dollars. yikes!
So I really try to squeeze every last drop out of it.

And until a few months ago I thought I was doing a pretty good job of that.
I decided to cut a tube of it open before I threw it out. Just to see if I was really getting it all out.
I was shocked at how much was left after I felt sure I had squeezed it with all my might the last time I used it.

Wow!
So now, before I throw the tube away, I cut the round end off the tube and scrape all the cleanser from the lid part of it.
Then I use a wooden spoon to thoroughly squeeze it all from the tube part.

I put all the cleanser I can save into a small reusable container to keep in the shower.

Today I was able to save a little more than 1 oz. of cleanser from this “empty” tube.

That’s about $3 that I didn’t throw away today.
And another week or more before I’m truly out of face wash.
That’s worth the 2 minutes it took to save it from the tube.
What could you be cutting from a seemingly empty container to save a buck or two?
