DIY Thankful Wreath

I saw this wreath of plenty idea in the November issue of Family Fun magazine and loved it. I wanted to try it this year with my family. Best part for me…I had everything I needed on hand, so I spent no extra money. Love that! Here are the supplies you need:

straw wreath
fabric strips (I cut up an old burlap potato sack to use on mine!)
straight pins
cardstock

Begin by cutting your strips of fabric or burlap. I just measured how much it took to wrap around the wreath and allowed an inch extra. I cut the strips 2 inches wide. They are probably 4 inches long or so. I didn’t count how many I cut, I just did a bunch. Then wrap each strip around the wreath and pin in place! Easy. Keep doing that, overlapping each strip a bit as you go, and when you are done, the wreath looks like this:

Cut out leaves (I used my Silhouette SD machine to cut out my leaves) using different colors of cardstock. Then have each person write on one leaf each day, then pin to the wreath! You can bend each leaf for dimension. It looks so good when it starts to fill up. Here is our wreath so far, only 7 days into the month! What are you thankful for right now?
