Default What are you having for Valentines Dinner???

I know it's not Valentines yet-but I need ideas! I have no idea what to make that will be fun/kids will eat, but not mac and cheese! Know what I mean?! I have picky kids, but want to do something fun!

We usually do heart-shaped pancakes. My kids will eat those and they're fun!

My neighbor and I made some yesterday and I put them in the freezer so they are ready go for our valentine dinner. I will serve them with a salad and heart shaped breadsticks.

I'm going to do Mozzarella chicken with pasta and sauce, salad, homemade breadsticks that are heart shaped and this drink (but pink in place of the blue). I thought it would be fun to read the dr. seuss blurb about the Yink who drinks pink ink

We are celebrating Valentines Day tonight because I am working tomorrow. I am making homemade green chile with homemade corn tortillas because my parents are here visiting from out of town and my dad REALLY likes it. We are having sparkling cider and a fancy berry cake that will represent the Valentines Day theme and they will get little sacks with candy and they each are getting a gift. Diamond earrings for DD13 and a Tiffany's flower ring for DD10.

This year we are going to feed the kids early and then put them to bed...they are almost 5 and 21 months, and then DH and I are going to make a bunch of appitizers from our favorite restaurants and have that for dinner. I'm super excited.

I'm going to do Taco salad dippers from here http://www.melskitchencafe.com/2010/...d-dippers.html

because it's fast and easy (only 3 more days til baby comes from tomorrow if things go as planned!).

I'm going to set the table with cute Valentine's themed paper plates, napkins, cups and cute Valentine's straws I found for the kids. We don't usually have dessert with weeknight meals so this will be a special occassion. I haven't decided what I'm going to do but most likely it will be m&m heart shaped cookies or a traditional sugar cookie. My DD's 10th birthday is the day after Valentine's so we will save cake for then.
