Default Pediatric dentist in Logan needed

I need to get my three year old in to see a pediatric dentist. We only have Medicaid health insurance right now and it has been difficult finding offices that will accept our insurance. Does anyone have a good recommendation? Even if they don't take Medicaid I am willing to consider someone with a great refferal. I just don't know enough people in the area to ask for refferals and with the insurance situation I don't want to waste money going to someone and having a bad experience. Thanks so much.

Again, I LOVE Dr. Doug at Small Smiles. GREAT dentist.

There are good pediatric dentists in Logan now, but it can be difficult getting ANY dentist to accept Medicaid. Good luck.

My kids see Dr. Allen at ABC Pediatric. He is very patient and great with the kids. I am not sure about the insurance but he is well worth the try.

There are doctors in Logan that accept Medicaid. The Dr. I work for has several patients that are on Medicaid. We had to limit how many Medicaid patients we saw because the payout is only about 33-40% of what we charge. We have to write off the rest. My boss feels that he should take his fare share of medicaid patients, which he does and more, but it is impossible to run a practice when we only receive up to 40% of our charges. As for pediatric dentists I haven't worked with Dr. Doug but Staton Allen is awesome. I don't know if any of the specialists accept Medicaid. If you find someone you like you might want to talk to them and see if you can work out a payment plan if they don't accept Medicaid. I know we at our office are concerned with people, especially kids getting their dental work taken care of and will try to make finacial arrangements to help the families. HTH

I don't know about the Medicaid acceptance but I take my boys to Logan(Providence actually) to see Dr. Allen at ABC Pediatric Dentistry. We love their whole staff.

One of my responsibilities in a former job was to make sure low income infants and toddlers got dental care. 90% of these kids were on Medicaid. It was next to impossible to get a dentist to accept them as patients, especially if they needed anything more than a checkup. Literally all of them said they "had their share" of Medicaid patients already. It's a real problem, because obviously dentists need to earn a living - and Medicaid reimbursement is very low in Utah.

I LOVE Dr Schweppe. He was AMAZING! I'm off medicaid now and he's not a provider on my new insurance. but i'd go back to him in a heartbeat. My son ended up needing a LOT of work done and Dr schweppe actually did it at the specialty hospital under general anesthesia.

Yes it is hard to find someone to take Medicaid. So far I haven't had any luck. We were actually taking our little girl to Dr Allen at ABC Pediatric Dentistry and they were accepting our insurance, but one day we got a letter saying they would no longer accept Medicaid and our next appointment was canceled. They said they would see her if we had other insurance to pay. Since then I've begun to see how hard it is to find someone. We may have to pay out of pocket if we can't find someone soon.
