The holidays are already in full swing at the Disneyland Resort. Here’s what you need to know to have the most fun celebrating the season:
Food
The seasonal fare at Disneyland during the holidays is every foodie’s dream. While in Disneyland, make sure to try the peppermint beignets from Café Orleans. But don’t be surprised if you find yourself coming back for more! The Pineapple Upside-down funnel cake from the Hungry Bear Restaurant in Frontierland is another Christmas favorite that won’t disappoint your sweet tooth.
Even more delights can be found in Disney California Adventure. All new this year is the Festival of Holidays! The event has brought a marketplace full of different cultures and foods. You’ll want to spend your whole afternoon trying out the amazing food from each kiosk. The Adobo Pork Bao and Sweet Spiced Noodle Kugel are two you won’t want to miss!
Rides
The Disneyland park doesn’t just amaze with food – they transform some of their classical rides into holiday favorites too. You’ll notice quite a few festive frights on the Haunted Mansion Holiday as Jack Skellington and his friends prepare for the night before Christmas. This holiday overlay lasts through both Halloween and Christmas since guests love it so much!
Don’t miss the Jungle Cruise in Adventureland because this boat ride becomes the Jingle Cruise just for the holidays. Keep your eye out for lost holiday decorations as you laugh all the way down different rivers across the world. The holiday fun doesn’t stop there! Head over to “it’s a small world” holiday to experience the ride in a whole new light. Your family will be awed by the regional decorations and find themselves singing a familiar tune with a touch of jingle bells.
Entertainment
Last, but most definitely not least, is the wide array of holiday entertainment available at the Disneyland Resort. The Festival of Holidays in Disney California Adventure doesn’t include just food, but also cultural performances and the debut of Princess Elena of Avalor. California Adventure debuted ‘World of Color – Season of Light’ this season, a new nighttime spectacular combining Disney characters and holiday classics. No visit to California Adventure would be complete without meeting the one and only Santa Claus. You can find him near the Grizzly River Run up until December 24th. After that, Santa Goofy will take his place.
Disneyland’s Sleeping Beauty Castle is another item on the can’t-miss list for the holidays. The castle is adorned in bright lights and the focal point of the “Believe… In Holiday Magic” fireworks. The firework display is a breathtaking holiday show that even includes “snow” on Main Street! Main Street is also home to the holiday daytime parade “A Christmas Fantasy Parade.” Your family will get to see a few Disney characters dressed for the season and welcome Santa to Disneyland!
