We tried this recently and it was a HUGE hit for my kids! They wanted me to make a bunch and freeze for school lunches, which I thought was a great idea! This is fast, easy and perfect for spring! Here is how we made them.
Pepperoni Pizza Rolls
recipe of your favorite pizza dough (here is mine)
grated cheese, cheddar or mozzarella
mini pepperonis
Italian seasoning
garlic salt
butter
After your pizza dough is ready, roll out into a large rectangle like if you were making cinnamon rolls. Spread a little soft butter over the dough, them sprinkle generously with Italian seasoning and garlic salt. Sprinkle mini pepperonis and grated cheese over the seasonings, as much as you like. Roll up like you would cinnamon rolls, long-ways. Slice with a serrated knife about 1 inch thick. Sprinkle the tops with more Italian seasoning. Place on a cookie sheet and bake at 350 for about 20 minutes or until lightly golden brown. Dip in marinara sauce to serve, and enjoy!
(I usually double the pizza dough recipe that I linked to above, and that makes approximately about 30 pizza rolls).
