How to Save on Candy for Trick or Treaters

Halloween will be here before we know it!  What are you planning on handing out to the trick or treaters that will be coming to your door?  Yes, candy and goodies can get expensive, especially if you live in a busy neighborhood, but it doesn’t have to.

Here are some of my favorite how to save on candy for trick or treaters tricks:

  • Watch this website.  We will be posting any awesome candy deals we find of course, so make sure you check back here often to share in the best deals.
  • Start now.  Do not, I repeat, do not wait until the days before Halloween to buy your candy.  It is imperative that you start now or else you will be paying top dollar for your candy.
  • Coupon.  I am betting you made your way to this website because you were looking for coupon deals, am I right?  Well, my friends, nothing has changed. We are still all about saving in whatever ways we can and couponing is a huge part of that.  That means that I always check the couponing tab on this website for new and updated coupons and during Halloween that is no exception.  Candy companies almost always release new candy coupons for the holiday. Also, don’t forget to check out the sunday paper and clip any ecoupons from your store as well!  You can save a lot this way.
  • Buy in bulk.  Do you have a grocery store near you that sells any foods in bulk?  You may be surprised to find that many of these types of stores have a huge candy selection in their bulk food section.  Sometimes they have some of the favored Halloween classics, but sometimes they have other kinds of candies that aren’t always kids favorites (butterscotch, taffy, etc).  Depending on what type of candy you like to give out, this may be a great way for you to save.
  • Shop drugstores.  Drugstores such as CVS, Rite Aid, Walgreens, etc often have smoking good deals on full-sized candy bars.  If you want to be the favorite trick or treating house on the block, you might consider watching for these deals and stocking up.  I recently saw full-size candy bars for $0.24 each. I think I could stock up for that price!
