I have a confession to make…
I’m a magazine JUNKIE!
I always have to have something to read around my house, and sometimes a book is just too much to get into, especially when my mind is so tired and I just wanna kick back and relax. At one point in time, I had so many magazine subscriptions that it was utterly insane. I’m pretty sure my mailman hated me, and the husband wasn’t terribly fond of my habit either. The piles of magazines stashed everywhere didn’t help matters much. Of course, the local hospital and doctors offices loved me every few of months during my magazine purges!
Eventually, though, I let my print magazine subscriptions expire. The magazine clutter just got to be too much! I did, however, keep some digital magazine subscription, and let me tell ya…so much easier! And, no clutter!
With digital magazine subscriptions, I can still kick back and lazily browse through the pages of my favorite magazines, but I don’t have to worry that my husband will ship me and my magazines off to some remote corner of the globe. I must say, I think I’m on much better terms with Mr. Postman too!
Having digital subscriptions of my favorite magazines is great! I can use my phone or tablet when I’m out and about, like when I’m waiting in the doctor’s office or just stopped to have a cup of coffee. I don’t even have to worry about lugging a heavy bag to the lake during the summer either.
My interests are very wide ranging, though, and my tastes are pretty eclectic. One day I might be browsing Food Network magazine to get new ideas for dinner, and the next you might find me pouring over an issue of This Old House. On days when food or building isn’t on the menu, it might be Time or Smithsonian you find me buried in. Some might say I’m fickle, but I just say I’m well rounded.
The only problem with my well roundedness (is that a word?) is that the sheer number of magazine subscriptions it could take to keep me satisfied can still get expensive. And, I also have a couple of different magazine subscription apps, so all of my reading material isn’t in one place. That’s probably the biggest reason why I’m considering Texture right now.
Texture gives you access to over 175 of the world’s best and most popular magazines, including back issues, to browse and your leisure. Just pay one low monthly rate for unlimited access to all sorts of reading material!
Here’s just a quick sampling of the titles available:
And, the best part is you can try Texture for 14 days for FREE to see if you like it! If you like it, you can continue your plan and pay as low as $9.99 per month to keep the service. There’s no commitment, though, and you won’t be charged anything if you cancel any time during the free 14-day trial.
You’ll need to download the Texture app to read your magazines. This is available from the App Store for your iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch, Google Play for your Android phone or tablet and Amazon Appstore for your Fire tablet. Devices running iOS 7.0 or higher, Android 4.1 or higher, and Amazon Fire tablets with OS4 or higher should be compatible with the app. You can also share the Texture app on up to five different devices. (PSST! That means that you can split the cost of a subscription with family and friends!)
Once you start your trial and download the app, you can start reading magazines right away. Just browse the titles and tap on a magazine cover to start reading. You can swipe through pages, scroll down, play with interactive animations, and even enjoy bonus content that you won’t find in print subscriptions, like photo slideshows and video. Plus, keep all of your favorite magazines at your fingertips by adding magazines to your Favorites to create your own personal library. If you aren’t always near a Wi-Fi source and don’t want to use your mobile data, you can also download magazines and read them offline any time.
All this is completely FREE for the first 14 days too! It’s definitely something to think about if you’re an info junkie and magazine addict like me!
What do you all think? Is Texture something you might be interested in? Do you think I should seek professional help for my magazine addiction?
